The vineyard. It's along way to go from the wineyard to a glass of wine. A way which is strongly infulenced by nature but created by human knowledge,intuition and experience.The winery Stephan Kohl is located in the Moselle valley close to the confluence of the river Dhron. Here we grow Riesling, grey, white and blue Burgundy and Kerner on 4 hectares. Our vineyards are located on the hillsides above the river Dhron. The shistose ground is very rampant in most areas. That's laboriuos for us on the one hand but on the other hand a guaranty for warm sunshine helping to ripen the grapes.
Winemaker- a craft with a mission
The handicraft of wine making is an art and our mission. The quality of our wines is created in the vineyard and that's where we like to work most: Caring the ground, thinning out the grapes to achieve a richer taste and a careful grape harvest on the right time.
Experience and intuition
In growing wine, the most important things are experience and sensitivity. We always try to join tradition, experience an innovative techniques. In the end we enjoy the unique taste of our wines. As our guests you are welcome to look over our shoulders.
